ANTIQUE REPRODUCTION 1868 SURPRISE
DOUBLE-FACED BRU POUPEE PORCELAIN DOLL
This wonderful 13.5” reproduction doll is from the French company, owned by Leon Casimir Bru and was introduced in 1868. This double-faced poupee is on a leather body, with the
awake face
having blue glass eyes and well detailed facial features. The second face is known as the
asleep face
. The sleep eyes were painted closed eyelids. She has porcelain lower arms and the head swivels to show her 2 faces. The costume reflects the elaborate fashion styles of the day. This lovely doll is on leather body by Create-A-Doll, gussets in her elbows and knees, with porcelain breastplate.  Her gown is made of silk.  Her shoes are of leather.
This porcelain doll is hand painted and costumed by an award winning Doll Artisan Guild Instructor.  Becca has personally signed and dated this exquisite doll thus making it a wonderful porcelain treasure for your doll collection.
This lovely doll has been in a smoke-free environment.
