Lionel 9674 Empty Set Box For A 1961 Sears Diesel Switcher Promotional Outfit!

Up for your consideration is an original Lionel Postwar empty Promotional Super O outfit box 9674 from the 1961 Sears seven-unit diesel freight set.  This large uncataloged set box measures 16" X 15-1/2" X 7-1/8" and was manufactured by the Mead Corporation of North Bergen, New Jersey with a Mead Containers stamp on the bottom.  This box originally contained the following colorful components:  616X Santa Fe diesel switcher with horn, 6822 searchlight car, 6812 track maintenance car, 6827 flat car with tractor shovel, 6519 Allis Chalmers car, 6416 boat transport car, 6130 Santa Fe work caboose, Super O track, transformer, and associated paperwork.  Keep in mind that this auction is for the empty set box only.
Please examine the pictures closely and carefully.  You are bidding on the exact item as shown.  There is some old tape on the top flaps that once held the box closed, and some minor glue repair.  The condition of this box can be improved with a little bit of time and patience.  While not perfect, this box has a rarity of 7 out of 10 in that only 1000 of these were produced for Sears.  How many others have survived over the past 60 years??!?  When is the last time you saw one of these boxes in any condition??!?  Please ask questions if you are uncertain about anything.  Thank you for visiting my auction.
